StumpySteve, after having a Coombs Blood Test earlier this week, has tested positive for "Warm Antibody Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia" (severe anemia where antibodies are eating his Red Blood Cells alive) which is caused by his Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (this CLL is incurable, by the way).
His doctors stated that a nutritional approach may help in the treatment of some cancers, but NOT his type of CLL. His particular cancer is very much terminal, and has NO known cures.
The doctors said, high dose intravenous immune globulin may be effective in controlling the hemolysis (severe anemia), but the benefit is short lived (1–4 weeks), and the therapy is very expensive. Another, short term temporary solution is having a Splenectomy (removing his spleen).
Steve said he'd rather just stop ALL treatments and medications and take the natural way out. However, he did agree to taking any medications which might help with any pain.
