Re: MisfitsCafe.com - HYBRID FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

FYI  The Purple Potato comes from South America.  It is a very hardy spud and grows up in the mountains where it can deal with the cold unlike most of the spuds that grow throughout the rest of the world.  They are very good. I had some when I was in SA but can't remember if they come from Peru or Chile but they do grow up in the mountains.  If you ever travel to South America Visit Chile,Peru,Belize. A lot of other SA countries have to many political problems for me but I've found these three to be the most friendly. Stay out of the big cities and especially the tourist trap areas. Go out into the land and hire a college student to translate for you if you don't speak the language.

Every year on the shelves can be seen more and more new hybrid fruits and vegetables. Hybrids (fruits, which were born as a result of interbreeding plant species) are quite firmly entrenched in the stores and some hybrid fruits like nectarines or vegetables like broccoli now seem like have always been there. Let's see the 10 most unusual fruits and vegetables, which came to light thanks to breeding.
