Re: MisfitsCafe.com - This Spoofed Email Intercepted

 

Yeah Ernie, that is my kid John who caught that one. He's pretty good with this stuff. Has a bit of college level computer science under his belt ... and is pretty good with all thedifferent programming languages of the day. Between him and his sister, Heather, they pretty much watch over the mod functions of the groups ... which is now very little.
 
Keep in mind, that what is happening to Tim Kahler here at PLH ... is the same thing that happed to Rennie at TH. The only difference, is Tim and the other unknown members stay on moderation ... while our known posters are aloud to post openly ... there is no way to stop those spoofed emails .. unless you put everybody on moderation.
 
Taking that type of action will greatlyslow down the flow of the groups ... so in a nutshell, we need to depend on you ALL, the members, to continue to exercise caution when opening any posters email. Simply opening an email won't hurt anyone here in the groups ... it's when you start clicking on unknown malicious links or downloading BS attachments that one can get in trouble ...
 
... especially if their virus / adware / spyware protection is lacking.
