by Jane Powell "Organize your time." Getting the most from every minute starts with better organization. This means you need to be in tune with your immediate priorities and willing to stick with them. As you go through your day it's easy to get caught up in busy work and less important errands. Instead, draw the line. You need to stay focused on your priority tasks. If making a list helps, do it. If it means telling someone you don't have time, then don't be afraid to say it. At the end of the day, you will have accomplished what is important to you. You won't feel rushed, worn-out or stressed. Instead you'll feel energized, productive and accomplished. Then, you can give yourself a mental pat on the back for a job well done! "When the going gets rough, you need self-worth." When you're looking good on the outside, with a new outfit or haircut, your day goes more smoothly and you handle setbacks more easily. This feels good and helps us handle the daily grind. But, tackling challenges is much easier and more dramatic when you feel good about yourself on the inside! A strong self-worth builds personal resilience, which helps you face challenges and bounce back from adversity. You grow stronger from the inside out, and feel the confidence to persevere and move forward with enthusiasm. So when things go wrong, don't reach for your credit card. Instead, reach inside for that priceless deposit of self-worth! When in doubt about what to do, choose the kindest option. When you're not sure about how much to give of yourself, err on the side of generosity. When you feel the urge to do something nice for someone else, don't make excuses for why you can't. Just go ahead and make it happen. Give your attention to your thoughts. And at the same time, pay heed to the intelligence within you that transcends those thoughts. Without hesitation, go with what you know is right. Act on that little voice that may sound crazy but that feels so true. Everything you've ever experienced is embedded in your wisdom. Though you cannot consciously remember it all, you can still allow it all to guide you. Have the confidence to act on who you are and what you know, even if you sometimes cannot explain why. Authenticity is always the best choice. Ralph Marston |
