Pot-Luck-Humor - Beverly @ ... and the doctor said ...

Thanks Beverly, but i'm not nearly as disciplined as you think i am. While i did all the research needed to beat most all diseases from a nutritional perspective ... and do make an honest effort to follow what i have learned ... i am constantly cheating. At least once (or twice) a week ... i award myself with one of my favorite old no-no foods / meals (yeah, i'm a weak fool).

So not to mislead anyone here, while lowering my WBC, helps to stabilize the leukemia ... it has not eradicated the disease (not yet , anyway) ... and furthermore we have not addressed the lymphoma side of this equation either. I'll have to wait until my next CT scan before i'll know more in that department. As of both, Aug '08 & July '10 scans ... i have multiple enlarged lymph nodes, but only three are of concern right now.

One is near my heart and two are in the groin. From the 2008 to 2010 scans, there has been little change. This means what little i was doing nutritionally during that period has at least stabilized the condition. And if my research continues to prove itself through the actions i have initiated personally ... with the stricter diet and the Vitamin D therapy ... then i do expect these nodes to be shrinking right now, as i type this reply.

As far as the Vitamin D ... trust me when i say, "i know exactly what i am doing here" and even had to help educate several of my doctors on this matter. It is me that has to get them to check my "D" levels every 60 to 90 days. My research here goes straight to the source of a multitude of medical research scientist, doctors, cellular biologist, etc. I even posted hours of their lectures here at the groups.

As for exactly what it is, i'm doing. Read the post i made to Ian Brown concerning his aunt, over here:

PLEASE NOTE: there are two important points i failed to mention in that post ... make sure that the veggies you consume are Certified 100% Organic and that you do NOT use Cod Liver Oil as your Vitamin D source. Veggies other than organic, are grown using the the very toxic chemicals which causes most cancers (and even washing will not remove all of the toxins) .... AND ... Cod Liver Oil also has Vitamin A which uses the same cell receptors as Vitamin D ... so you are defeating your purpose here ... Besides that ... high doses of Vitamin A is indeed very toxic.

... thanks again for both your words of concern and encouragement. -- hugs from your fellow misfit --- stumpysteve :-)

Stumpy..what wonderful news!! Keep up all and whatever you have been doing to produce such great reports. You are definitely a very disciplined person who will do what has to be done to extend life and will only say my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you travel along this road to a full recovery from your diagnosed leukemia. It is your life you are working for..you know your body far better than any doctor as well as knowing your own limitations, of which I am firmly convince there are none.
Best of everything, my Friend, as you travel toward an even better white blood cell count.....
Just a word of caution, but already know you have considered it...be careful of overdosing on Vitamin D. Sometimes too much of a good thing can have disastrous results..but again am sure you are closely monitoring these blood levels. Don't want any medical problems because of too much Vitamin D.

Well today was my 90 day follow up with the oncologist ... and he said (with amazement), "whatever you are doing, keep doing it." He didn't seem that interested in my vitamin D and nutritional approach ... other than my white blood cell count (wbc) has dropped back into the high-normal range.

Normal WBC's run between 4 and 10 ... the oncologist office shows 10.9 on their charts, as still being normal. At the first of the year my WBC was 11.2 and my PCP figured infection and prescribed some antibiotics. Didn't help, but due to her moving, i had to switch to a new PCP ... who was not interested in the WBC at that time. Anyways, long story short, my WBC was 11.8 in April and 12.6 in June.

It was then, that i was referred to a infectious disease specialist ... after more very expensive blood work ... any  infections were ruled out and i was diagnosed with the leukemia / lymphoma CLL/SLL Zap-70 positive. When i first saw my oncologist (in July), my WBC had jumped out to 13.4 iand 14.8 in Aug. When i showed up today, their office had already made plans to start some kind of pre-chemo with some kind of drug called blah-blah-globin(?) ...

... i threw a fit and said ... hey wait a minute ... you said No chemo until my WBC had doubled to the 25 to 30 range. I'm trying to beat this crap through a nutritional & vitamin D approach. So i insisted that they do another WBC ... and guess what ... it has dropped a full 4 points in a 90 day period. I had only a 10.8 WBC today (the lowest this year) ... and bet i drop even further with this diet & viatmin D therapy. So the doctor canceled his pre-chemo, put me back on the 90 day observation window and instead, referred me to having a colonoscopy. ... which I was suppose to do back in '07, but had to cancel due to lack of insurance.

I'm telling you folks ... you need to take charge of your own health & medical research and keep these damn doctors in line. There are dozens of proven alternatives out there, that the conventional big pharma docs won't discuss. So it's up to you (us). They are all trained in the mainstream methods of treatment which are nothing more than chemo, radiation & surgery .... in their world, there is NO cures. Only the treating of symptoms until they have all of your estate (or until you finally croak0.

Dr, Nair is really a nice guy ... still on the young side and not yet calloused from all the death that goes with cancer. While he refused to give me a second script for another 50,000 IU weekly vitamin D (i've got other ways for that) ... he is very much aware of the approach i am using and did encourage me to keep doing what ever i'm doing to bring my blood levels back in order.

If you, or a loved one is fighting cancer (or any disease) ... i'll be more than glad to talk to you off group about my very strict regimen ... while, i'm not out of the medical woods yet ... i've seen enough now, personally, to know that this DOES work ... if you work it. It's only a decision about living (or dying) ... and extending life with less aches & pains.
