ALWAYS scan your rear & side view mirrors when moving or stopped!

ALLWAYS before proceeding : look LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT.

ALLWAYS when crossing multiple lanes & intending to turn left... you are much safer turning right with traffic flow, proceed in opposite direction then intending to go, slow down with left turn signals on and drive into a business parking lot & come out again turning right.

THEY TAUGHT THIS IN MY ROOKIE POLICE TRAINING....IT HAS SERVED ME WELL.  MANY OF THE ACCIDENTS I INVESTIGATED COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THE DRIVER'S WOULD HAVE DONE THESE SAFER TACTICS.         DRIVE DEFENSIVELY, QUICK CHECKS TO SEE IF THOSE SHARING THE ROAD WITH YOU ARE PAYING ATTENTION OR ARE BEING DISTRACTED BY HAIR BRUSHING, APPLYING LIPSTICK, TEXTING ETC. BE SAFE!
